Community Care for Australia’s Missions

Australia’s Missions

According to Homelessness Australia, every night more than 100,000, or one in 200 people in Australia are homeless. Domestic violence is cited as the biggest cause of homelessness and sadly, 27 percent are children under 18 years of age.

Across Australia, numerous charitable organisations work tirelessly to bridge the gap for Australia’s homeless. Across every state and territory, homeless missions run by a variety of religious denominations offer food, clothing and shelter to the homeless in times of crisis.

The Rapid Relief Team humbly supports the noble efforts of Australia’s homeless missions with catered breakfasts, lunches and dinners – along with warm, portable blankets for the homeless. Below are a couple of examples of the many homeless missions that RRT support.

UCW Tranby Mission

In South Australia, our volunteers are scheduled on a regular basis to bring warm, hearty breakfasts and early morning smiles to the Uniting Care
West Tranby Mission

Rosie’s Friends on the Street

You’ll also find us supporting the good work of Rosie’s Friends on the Street in Queensland, where our volunteers pop-up monthly with hot evening meals and friendly hands to serve those in need.

How can you help?

If you’d like to purchase our portable blankets, RRT will donate the same quantity you purchase  directly to a homeless mission in your state or territory.
